You can get the Exp. Share earliest from Elm's aide in Azalea/Ilex Forest gate. Can also be purchased from Indigo Plateau mart later in the game.

When held by a Pokémon, it receives 50% of experience from battles even if it doesn't participate. Very useful for training low-level Pokémon or balancing your team's levels.
