Flame Body

Flame Body is an ability in Polished Crystal that has a 30% chance of burning an opponent that makes contact with the user. This ability is particularly useful against physical attackers, as the burn status condition halves their Attack stat, making them less effective in battle. This does not affect Special Attack stats!

On top of this, Flame Body will also speed up the hatching of eggs in Polished Crystal, cutting the number of steps required in half. This makes it a popular choice for breeders looking to hatch Pokémon quickly. Combine this ability with an Oval Charm to further reduce the number of steps needed to hatch eggs!

Flame Body is found on the fire starters, Magma, Slugma, and Ponyta evolutionary lines. Moltres also has a chance of having this ability as its hidden ability!
